MPhil - Since October 2022
Previous: BSc at the University of Sydney
Current: MPhil student - Applications of samarium(II) diiodide in total synthesis
Funding: Self-funded
Prizes: University of Sydney Honours Scholarship, Denison Research Scholarship, Dean's List of Excellence in Academic Performance, Vice Chancellor's Global Mobility Scholarship
Biography: I lived in Qingdao, China (where Tsingtao Beer is from) before moving to the University of Sydney in Australia to finish my Bachelor with Honours degree. In my Honours year, I worked on the total synthesis of a plant hormone called avenaol under the supervision of Prof. Christopher McErlean. In my MPhil study, I will focus on developing new SmI2-mediated radical processes for carbon-carbon bond formation and exploiting them in the total synthesis of biologically active natural products. In my spare time, I like road trips, hiking, tea and weight training.
