Biography: I was born in Anhui, China. I majored in applied chemistry as an undergraduate, and in 2012, I started my masters studies under the supervision of Prof. Yandong Zhang at Xiamen University. In 2015, I joined Prof Haichao Xu’s group at Xiamen University to start my doctoral studies. My Ph.D. project focused on developing novel methods for the formation of C-N bonds using electrochemical oxidation. After I got my Ph.D. as an outstanding student, I joined Prof. Daniele Leonori’s group as a Marie Curie Individual Fellow at the University of Manchester. My research focused on photoredox-cobalt catalyzed dehydrogenation reactions. I joined the Prof. David Procter’s group in 2022 as a PDRA. My current research interest is the development of sulfoxides as activators of substrates for metal-free cross-couplings for the synthesis of bioactive targets and organic materials.
